Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) announced in the final quarter of 2020 that 96% of foreign investors expressed confidence in Thailand, with the total number of requests for investment promotion in the first nine months reaching 1,098 projects. The majority came from electric and electronics industry with a maximum investment value of 37,550 million baht.

Dr. Sampan Silapanad, President of Electronic & Computer Employers' Association, affirms growth opportunities for Thai electronics industry due to the increasing requirements for devices needed to work and study remotely in the new normal era as a result of COVID-19. This continued rise in demand has helped sustained Thai manufacturers who are part of the supply chain.”

“The overall picture of Thailand's electrical and electronic manufacturing industry is positive, because the Thai production line was halted very briefly from March to April last year due to shortage of materials from countries affected by lockdown. However, the confidence in Thailand’s public and private sectors’ effective COVID management, many plants abroad have gradually relocated their bases to Thailand.”
