The global economic recovery has substantially benefited the Thai economy. The Ministry of Commerce has revealed that exports in 2021 grew by over 17% to $271,173 million as a result of collaboration between the Ministry of Commerce and the private sector, together with the recovery of key trading nations, the expansion of the global manufacturing sector and the stable value of Baht currency. The highest exports last year was observed in December at 24,930.3 million dollars, or 24.2%, with 3 major categories of products being agricultural products, agro-industrial products and industrial products. Under the industrial products, the important products include automotive, parts and components 45%, petroleum-related products 34%, gems and jewelry 29.3%, computers, peripherals and components 28.6%, iron and steel products 28.4% and air conditioners and components 25.8%. For the year 2022, the ministry also estimated that the export will continue to grow at 3-4%, or projected value of $2.79-2.82 million.*
