On April 29, RX Tradex organized Plastics Forum with notable speakers from plastics-related organizations including Plastics Institute of Thailand, Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE), Waste and Hazardous Substances Management Division of Pollution Control Department, Unique Plastic Industry Public Co., Ltd., and ThaiPlastic Recycle Group Co., Ltd. to share the latest data and statistics on the Thai and global plastics industries, challenges from the trade war that affect plastic exports and imports, and opportunities arising from the concept of “Extended Producer Responsibility” (EPR), in which manufacturers are responsible for the entire product lifecycle to facilitate recycling, reuse, and reduce resource usage. Moreover, case studies of plastic manufacturers who have successfully implemented EPR to create sustainable businesses with profits were also presented.
