The positive recovery of the world economy has contributed to Thailand’s manufacturing sector expansion that accounts for 70% of the national GDP. The Thai National Shippers’ Council estimated that Thailand's exports are expected to rise more than 7% in the third quarter from a year earlier. Moreover, the total number of new factories that have been granted category 3 business licenses and category 2 business certificates in Bangkok and the other regions have reached 223 factories, with Bangkok at the helm with the highest number of 69 factories, and the Eastern region as the region with the most new factories of 40. Altogether, these establishments have generated 62,867.29 million baht in investment and creating 10,167 jobs.
